Golden tall border frame of this amazing mourning brooch. The inner locket contains hair which is beautifully arrayed using the workmanship of the artist of this time. This kind of work is truly a lost art, but it is showcased here on both sides of the locket, one with a florist and the other with a perfect woven pattern. The center part of this brooch flips so that it can be worn two different ways. arrangement in a three Clover shamrock, with 3 natural seed pearls.
The early Victorian brooch is beautifully hand crafted in 15 karat gold, it dates to about 1840.
It measures 43.0 x 33.0 x 6.0mm. Weight 14.3gm, no hallmark, test with XRF 15K
