◇ This is an aloha shirt from Toyo Enterprise - LAND OF ALOHA SUN SURF ALOHA SHIRT.
This is the aloha shirt that once adorned the cover of JAL.
LAND OF ALOHA
Land of Aloha was chosen as the most representative and popular design in Hawaii. Using 21 colors of screens and finely calculated delicate pattern matching, the fabric was created by printing in Japan at the time and then sewing in Hawaii to become an aloha shirt.
The vibrant tropical design drawn by skilled artisans in Kyoto harmoniously blends Hawaiian culture and Japanese craftsmanship. Examination of old documents revealed several color combinations, indicating that this pattern had been attracting attention since that time.
An essential figure in the history of this shirt is Isamu Takabuki, a Japanese descendant. Immediately after the war, in Kyoto, he used a school gymnasium as a dyeing workshop. In 1956, the Land of Aloha that required 21 screens was hand-printed by him. The finished fabric was sent to Hawaii through the trading company he founded, Victory Imports. The company purchased the fabric and sold it as shirts. Hale Hawaii, which was established in 1950 and was dealing with a variety of works with different types of fabric and printing methods, was the one that handled this fabric.
This is a reprint of that rare, valuable model shirt.
This season, the aloha shirt is popular as well.
Since it's not a widely available item, how about taking this opportunity?
